Qualcomm ELD contributions

Two merged fixes in Qualcomm's LLVM-based ELF linker: GNU-compatible numeric -O handling and a PHDRS/FILEHDR layout crash. Further LTO, AArch64, and build-guidance changes are in review.

2 merged fixes · focused regression tests across 6 target configurations

Inside the project

How it works

Object files + linker script → symbol and section layout → ELF executable

  • Accepted numeric GNU -O compatibility options while keeping LTO optimization controls independent.
  • Guarded ELF/program-header address assignment when a linker script omits those headers from the output layout.
  • Reproduced failures and added regression coverage for x86-64, Hexagon, ARM, AArch64, RV32, and RV64 configurations.

The linked PRs record focused validation and expected skips. These were not full-suite runs; review status is listed below.

LLVM BugSquad

An LLVM investigation workspace that brings compiler inputs, model-assisted routing, isolated compiler recipes, and inspectable evidence into one local interface.

Synthetic replay demo · live model/worker integration validation pending

Inside the project

How it works

Input IR → FastAPI coordinator → replay/model routing + compiler worker → events and evidence ZIP

  • Stored run history and ordered events in SQLite, with resumable server-sent events and cancellation.
  • Implemented fixed opt, FileCheck, and lit recipes with resource-limited Docker workers and captured artifacts.
  • Exported reports and ZIP bundles with input/artifact hashes and worker image identity for reproducible investigation.

The demo uses synthetic replay scenarios and substituted contract tests. Diagnosis is a deterministic evidence summary; autonomous patching is not implemented.

GENAI / FULL-STACK APPLICATION04

NewsScript

A news-to-script workspace that collects RSS stories, removes duplicates, ranks articles, and turns selected stories into structured video-script drafts.

Local prototype · provider integration and deployment hardening pending

Inside the project

How it works

RSS → cleanup and ranking → saved articles → model or template draft → text/PDF export

  • Implemented RSS ingestion, URL/title-similarity deduplication, heuristic ranking, and a process-local cache.
  • Added bookmarks and stored scripts with short/long formats backed by Prisma and SQLite.
  • Integrated optional Gemini/OpenAI generation with a local template fallback, plus copy, text, and PDF exports.

Ranking uses heuristic signals, including synthetic engagement inputs. The assistant uses article metadata as context rather than a vector retrieval pipeline.

DESKTOP / PRODUCTIVITY05

MoodPet

A native Windows companion that combines an animated desktop pet with focus sessions, local activity history, persistent streaks, and a productivity dashboard.

Local Windows application

Inside the project

How it works

Manual timer + activity signals → focus state → SQLite → pet, charts, and history

  • Built pause/resume focus timers with partial-session recording and a tray interface.
  • Added daily charts, 7/30-day history, a 12-week calendar, CSV exports, and persistent XP/streaks.
  • Stored aggregate durations and sessions locally, with unit tests for focus and persistence behavior.

Activity classification uses personal heuristics. The source contains local setup instructions; a packaged public release is not listed.

C++ Concepts Lab

An interactive C++ and STL learning lab with step-through container illustrations, an editable coding workspace, quizzes, and an optional Gemini tutor.

Public learning interface · external compiler/model services required for those features

Inside the project

How it works

Lesson + visual simulation → editable code → Wandbox output; lesson context → optional AI tutor

  • Created data-driven memory/container simulations that explain concepts step by step.
  • Connected the editor to Wandbox for C++, C, Java, and Python, separating compiler output from program output.
  • Added timed quizzes, a browser-local leaderboard, and sanitized Markdown for assistant responses.

Visualizations are teaching simulations, not execution traces. The tutor receives lesson context directly rather than using RAG.

REAL-TIME / MULTIPLAYER07

Quizzes by Iron

An event-driven multiplayer quiz with host-controlled rooms, QR-code joins, timed questions, server-side scoring, and live leaderboards.

Web application · room state held in one server process

Inside the project

How it works

Host/player clients ↔ Socket.IO rooms → timers and scoring → answer feedback and leaderboard

  • Built separate host and player views with six-character room codes and QR join links.
  • Implemented 20-second question timers, time-based points, submission counts, and room-scoped updates.
  • Checked duplicate lobby names and repeated answers while keeping scoring on the server.

Rooms are in memory; host disconnection or server restart ends continuity. The public frontend is available; no scale or latency measurements are claimed.

C++ / SYSTEMS COURSEWORK08

C++ Filesystem & Concurrency Lab

A C++17 command interpreter exploring the differences between sequential and threaded filesystem operations, recursive traversal, and coordinated output.

Educational Linux experiment

Inside the project

How it works

Command parser → sequential/threaded command classes → filesystem traversal and operations

  • Implemented command classes for cd, ls, cp, mv, and rm with recursive directory handling.
  • Compared sequential and threaded executables, coordinating listing output with a mutex.
  • Included workload-generation and timing scripts to explore filesystem and concurrency behavior.

This is a filesystem interpreter, not a POSIX shell. The README explains the large benchmark workload and implementation limits; no reproducible speedup is claimed.

GPT-2 Review Summarization

A notebook experiment fine-tuning GPT-2 to turn Amazon Fine Food Reviews into short summaries, covering data preparation, training, checkpointing, and generation.

ML coursework · evaluation corrections documented

Inside the project

How it works

Reviews → preprocessing and split → GPT-2 fine-tuning → checkpoint → summary generation

  • Prepared review–TL;DR–summary sequences with a custom dataset and data loaders.
  • Implemented an AdamW training loop, learning-rate scheduling, checkpoint save/load, and prompt-based generation.
  • Included ROUGE/BLEU evaluation code and documented prompt-leakage and batching issues that need correction.

Historical scores are not presented as valid quality measurements. The repository documents reproduction gaps and does not include a packaged inference service.

NLP / RESEARCH VISUALIZATION11

Bioinformatics Literature & Graph Explorer

A related pair of research tools: an extremophile literature-mining pipeline and an interactive chemical–gene graph that makes prepared relationships and publication references easier to explore.

Research capstone · two connected repositories

Inside the project

How it works

PubMed literature → entity cleanup and PMID joins → co-occurrence records → interactive graph

  • Organized gene and chemical metadata, joined records by publication, and filtered co-occurring sentences.
  • Assigned rule-based interaction labels and exported inspectable research tables.
  • Built chemical filters, directed labeled edges, component coloring, and a metadata sidebar with PubMed references.

The graph visualizes prepared relationships; co-occurrence is not causation. The notebooks use environment-specific paths and do not constitute a validated biomedical prediction model.

04 / A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Curiosity at every
layer.

I'm Yashwant, a software engineer working across systems and generative AI, with compiler engineering experience at IBM India Software Labs and an M.Tech from IIIT Delhi.

My work connects C++ and Linux systems with retrieval-backed AI applications. I enjoy the details around the algorithm: reproducible failures, useful evidence, reliable APIs, and software people can inspect and use.

From a linker regression to an assistant that cites its sources, the question stays the same: how can we make this more dependable?
